Marc O’Donovan-Wyatt to leave the Blues in June

There was some shock news coming off the field within the Blues in the past week after Waterford FC’s Chief Operating Officer Marc O’Donovan-Wyatt confirmed that he set to leave his position at the club in June after handing in his resignation to the club owners last month.
After the Cork native arrived at the club 15 months ago to lead the off the field operations at the Blues, O’Donovan-Wyatt made changes to the commercial and communication side of the club that also led to the appointments of a community officer, supporters liaison officer and operations executive.
With the new club shop also a major part of the change for the club, there’s no doubting that he has done a lot of good work during his tenure at the club with his insight massive in leading the club forward into the Premier Division.

After confirming his decision to depart the club in a social media statement on Wednesday last, he will remain at the club for another three months to ensure a smooth handing over period, and although that ultimately resulted in the step up to the Premier Division with a lot of work off the field down to his insight.
Prior to taking the role in Waterford, he was working as a lecturer in Football Business and Management for UCFB - the 'football university' based in Wembley, Manchester’s Etihad and its original base in Turf Moor.
In a statement, Marc O’Donovan-Wyatt said: “On Thursday 20/03/24, I made the decision to submit my resignation to Waterford FC. I will remain in post until June 2024 to continue supporting the team with the improvement of this special football club and ensure a smooth transition to the clubs next phase.
“Beyond June, is yet to be determined but no doubt the future is bright. There are so many people to thank which I will do closer to my finishing date, until then my full focus remains on developing this club and this region, together. Thank you all for everything.” The club will now have time to find a successor before O’Donovan-Wyatt’s shock departure from the club.
