Woman sentenced for heroin possession in Waterford city

A woman was sentenced this week for possession of drugs in Waterford city centre.
Christina Ryan (28), of Ballymartin, Mullinavat, County Kilkenny, was stopped by gardaí in a vehicle on the Mall, Waterford city, on July 21, 2025.
She was a passenger in the vehicle at the time and was found with €75 of diamorphine in her possession.
The woman has 42 previous convictions, 28 of which are for drug possession.
11 of her previous convictions are for sale or supply of drugs.
Judge Kevin Staunton, presiding over Waterford District Court, sentenced the woman to two months in prison for the offence.
