A 45-year-old woman was caught by gardaí recently with, allegedly, a large amount of diamorphine.

Bridget Ward, of Ballymartin, Mullinavat, appeared in Waterford District Court last week charged with possessing 10 grams of diamorphine, amounting to a value of €1,468.

On November 15, 2025, Gardai observed the woman retrieve something from a parked vehicle.

Gardai approached, and found her to be in possession of five large wraps of the substance.

Judge Kevin Staunton accepted jurisdiction of the matter into the District Court.

The matter will be raised once again before Judge Staunton on October 27.
