Who gets your vote?

Its voting day.

Locally, our local TDs had their voices heard loud and clear on social media.

Heather Humphreys and John Cummins

John Cummins, supporting party colleague Heather Humphreys, said: "I know there are a lot of undecided voters out there still from engaging on the ground but I am asking my supporters to get behind Heather.

"She is an exceptionally hard worker who believes strongly in empowering communities and I have no doubt she would represent our country at home and abroad with distinction.

"Heather has been a great advocate for rural and urban communities across the country over the years. Her understanding of how to extend the hand of friendship to all communities on this island would be invaluable in the role of President."

Meanwhile, both of our local Sinn Féin TDs have come out in support of Catherine Connolly.

David Cullinane said, "Catherine Connolly stands head and shoulders above Heather Humphreys, a true voice for social justice, Irish unity, and our neutrality.

"If you want honesty, vote Catherine Connolly. If you want spin, vote Heather Humphreys."

Conor McGuinness added, "Do we want another Government insider in the Áras, or a truly independent President who will speak for the people?

"She will be a President for peace, diplomacy and neutrality, a leader who carries herself with integrity and courage, and who will build on the work of Michael D. Higgins to shape a new, united Republic."

Ultimately the choice is yours. Ensure that you find time to vote today.
