‘We are back,’ Much-loved Waterford department store to reopen

Guineys in Waterford City has announced it will reopen on Friday, July 24.

The store has been closed since December due to what is understood to be damage from a fire.

But the store posted on social media that the long-awaited reopening will happen at 9:30am.

More than 200 people celebrated in the comments section of the post.

Many of the posters said they missed the store, while another thanked the stores in Clonmel and Kilkenny for “keeping us going.” 

One person said it would be like “welcoming a family member home.”
