Waterford Airport construction works reach the next phase, with over 250 airfield lights to be removed

The next phase of construction at Waterford Airport has begun, with the removal of over 250 airfield lighting fittings from across the airfield.
Waterford Aviation announced the removals on Thursday, September 3, on their Facebook page.
In their post, the company described the works as a "major operation" and "another important milestone" as they prepare for the next stage of construction works.
Images shared from Waterford Aviation show the crews at the airport removing lighting equipment from the entire site, as runway redevelopment works continue.
The runway works, which have been underway since June of this year, have also reached a new phase with the new SAR helipad coming into operation last week.
The runway is now fully closed to all aircrafts as works continue on the new runway.
