Southside Motor Club threw the fundraiser in aid of the charity.

On Sunday, August 17, Southside Motor Club held a charity fundraiser to help children in need.

The club raised €1,635 in aid of BUMBLEance Children’s Hospital Ambulance Service at their charity drive in Waterford Retail Park.

Families and car-lovers alike came out on the lovely day to support the great cause. 

BUMBLEance provides specialised care to children attending hospital appointments throughout Ireland, for free. Their aim is to help kids get to and from their medical appointments as safe and comfortable as possible.

The organisation have 15 specially designed vehicles and travel over 500,000km a year, taking children, parents and guardians door-to-door. BUMBLEance receive no State funding. Their aim is "to distract, comfort and entertain Ireland’s youngest patients as they travel to and from hospitals and paediatric treatment centres nationwide". 

Southside Motor Club were thrilled to help out the fantastic service.

According to their Chairperson Helen Shanahan, special VIP guest Irish car-reviewer Bob Flavin made an appearance, as did Laura from BUMBLEance and the friendly Bumbles mascot. 

She said: "It was a wonderful day filled with community spirit, support, and smiles, all while making a real difference for sick children across Ireland."
