She pleaded guilty to 15 counts at Waterford Courthouse.
A Waterford woman has pleaded guilty to a number of theft offences at Waterford Circuit Court.
Joan Hanrahan, of Woodview Close, Maypark Village, Waterford, appeared before Judge Eugene O'Kelly for her arraignment.
She pleaded guilty to 10 charges of theft contrary to Section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001 of making gain or causing loss by deception, and six charges of theft contrary to Section 4 of the same Act.
The 53-year-old is understood to have committed the acts across various Waterford banks between the period of July 2021 until April 2024. The stolen property is believed to come from one targeted person.
One charge of Section 6 theft took place on July 20, 2021, at the Permanent TSB at Ardkeen Village, where she induced a person to sign a bank withdrawal check of €30,000.
A similar offence took place on September 9 at Bank of Ireland on The Quay, when she induced the same person to sign a bank withdrawal check of €10,000.
Judge O'Kelly asked for the total sum of money stolen, to which he was told the sum was €150,000.
Defence counsel Gareth Hayden BL asked for the case to be adjourned for mention in March to fix a sentence.
Judge O'Kelly remanded the defendant on bail until the next hearing.
