Waterford school team aces sports competition

There was plenty of reason to celebrate in one Waterford school recently when its interfirm tennis teams brought home some silverware.
A spokesperson for Ardscoil Na Mara said the team members had their work cut out for them over the past couple of weeks.
"There were a lot of matches, glorious sun shine and excellent competition," she said.
"Well done to all our ASNM teams for giving it their all," she added.
Both our beginner teams had brilliant games over the two weeks and were very unlucky not to reach a final of their own.
The school spokesperson said: "Congratulations to Helen, David and Ivan for winning their plate final and congratulations to Ciaran and Olive who won their cup final. They have now completed the back to back double."
"A fantastic two weeks was had in St. Annes, and it was great to have four teams in the competition from Ardscoil na Mara, and even better to bring back some silverware," said the spokesperson.
