Waterford playground restorations to commence in the coming months

Playground restoration works will restart within the next few months.

Playground restorations due to start in Dunmore East last week were halted over “some sort of hold-up", with four playgrounds in the area on notice for repairs in the same schedule.

In response to concerns over the delay, Waterford City and County Council executive Ivan Grimes said: “While we have appointed a contractor for significant works in the district, it is taking a bit longer than we would have hoped. But I can confirm that works in all districts will start in the coming months.”

He added that due to the limited number of contractors available nationwide for playground works, their busy summer scheduling with season specific works and the fact that most of the equipment needed is sourced from abroad means that delays will sometimes happen.
