According to a recent report from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, homelessness continues to rise in Waterford

Waterford has the highest number of homeless people in the South East.

A recent report revealed that 97 adults in Waterford were accessing emergency accommodation during the week of February 19 to 25, this year; the most of any county in the South East. That was 19 people more than February 2023.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny registered 44 adults, Wexford 72 adults, and Tipperary 42 adults. Carlow had the lowest in the region, with 40 adults in February, 2024.

The South East region accounted for 3 per cent of Ireland’s total persons who were in emergency accommodation. In total, 9,671 adults were recorded across the entire country.
