New homes planned across the county
Plans for Williamstown
New homes are coming down the pipeline across Waterford city and county, with developments taking place in Aglish, Tramore and Williamstown.
In Williamstown, Waterford city, a planning application has been submitted for Phase Four of the Knightswood Estate.
The latest phase includes including 92 homes, comprised of houses, duplexes, and two apartment blocks.
A 75-child capacity creche is also in development.
The development will consist of vehicular and pedestrian connections to previous phases of the development, a pedestrian link to the existing residential development to the north of the application site, internal roads and footpaths, public open space, communal amenity space, site landscaping and parking provision.
A decision from the local planning authority is expected by October 1.
Further west, in Aglish, DFL Construction has submitted a planning application for the construction of 17 new houses.
The plans consist of 15 three-bed houses and 2 two-bed houses.
There have been strong calls made of late for homes in West Waterford, with pressure on developers to commence projects.
Waterford Council will deliver a decision on the planning application by September 30.
Meanwhile, it's good news for Tramore, as earlier this week a planning application for 25 age-friendly, independent living houses was given the go-ahead to commence construction in the Ballycarnane area.
The development consists of 17 one-bed dwellings and 8 two-bed dwellings.
