Gardaí are seeking the public's help in identifying two people

Gardai in Waterford are seeking the public’s help in identifying two people who forced a young man with learning disabilities to withdraw money from an ATM.

At approximately 1.50pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, a 21-year-old man with learning disabilities, was walking up John Street in Waterford City Centre.

As he neared the Centra on John’s street, he was stopped by a male and a female, who he did not know.

They demanded cash from this young man and then walked to an ATM opposite the Kazbar and forced him to withdraw a sum of money.

The man is described as a white male, around 27 years old, with brown hair, facial hair on his chin, 5ft 9in in height, chubby build, wearing a light black jacket and black tracksuit.

The woman is described as a white female, around 25 years old, with blonde hair, 5ft 8in in height, with distinctive eyebrows.

She was wearing a cream-white jacket with no sleeves.

Gardaí at Waterford Crime Unit are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have observed this incident to contact them on 051 303500 you can also use the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
