Waterford Food Bank receives significant accreditation

Waterford Food Bank received a major accolade recently when it received a Think Waterford First Accreditation Award from Waterford Chamber of Commerce. 

The Chamber acknowledged the work of the food bank in an online post on its social media pages, commenting: 'Congratulations to Waterford Food Bank on being awarded their Accreditation Certificate as part of our Think Waterford First Accreditation Scheme'.

"Waterford Food Bank are always making a difference in Waterford, delivering up to 250 food parcels to families every week," said the Chamber in its post.

It was also noted that Waterford Chamber of Commerce has been working with WFB for the recycling initiative - collecting plastic bottles and cans from local businesses, transforming them into resources to purchase fresh food for their parcels.

"They truly go above and beyond and we are delighted to give them the recognition they deserve," said the Chamber.

 As part of their accreditation, WFB will receive a comprehensive promotional package to help support the work it does.

The food bank was very appreciative of the accolade and the recognition of the Chamber.

It's members often highlight how Waterford is at the heart of everything the food bank does.

"Thank you to the Chamber and to everyone in our community who inspires us every day to keep putting Waterford first," said one of those involved.
