Waterford Food Bank is best summed up in John Barrett's own words, 'We're a bunch of ordinary people who are trying to help people who are less fortunate than ourselves'

'Harvest has always been about much more than a programme of events. It is about community, pride in our city, local people coming together and creating something that genuinely belongs to Waterford.'

The organisation received a Think Waterford First Accreditation Award from Waterford Chamber of Commerce.

In August, the foodbank helped a total of 5,288 people and provided more than 43,000 meals

The scheme was launched in conjunction with Waterford Chamber and has proven to be remarkable effective.
