Waterford council can lift illegal encampments if notices are ignored
The issue was raised at the March sitting of the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council in relation to two encampments at Quanns and Childers Estate
Waterford City and County Council can lift units on illegal encampments if notices to leave are ignored.
That is according to Senior Architect in the council housing section, Walter Holden, at the March sitting of the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council.
Cllr Joe O’Riordan asked for an update in relation to the illegal encampments at Quanns and Childers Estate.
“I know the one at Quanns has expanded somewhat since the last meeting and the one at Childers Estate is causing great disruption and to the local people.
“I don’t think it should be tolerated in any estate to have that kind of development down there,” said Cllr O’Riordan.
Mr Holden said notices have been issued to both encampments.
