Waterford Airport tells the public: "We're listening"
Waterford Airport asked the public about their dream destinations.
The public are having their say on where they'd like to fly to once Waterford Airport is officially up and flying.
Waterford Airport social media page received hundreds of responses from people adding their dream destinations.
Online, people mentioned a number of UK and European cities, including Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Amsterdam and Malaga.
Mostly, Waterford people seemed to be excited for the opportunity to not have to use the M50 or JJ Kavanagh's.
As one comment went: "Anywhere. Anything to not have to face the M50 to Dublin Airport."
On social media, the Airport commented that they while they could not promise any routes right now, they were listening to the people.
"London led by a distance. Málaga wasn't far behind. Between them, you named over 60 different destinations, from Co. Kerry to Rio.
"We're not announcing routes today. But we are listening, and we're keeping the list."
In the last update by Waterford Aviation, a major operation was ongoing to remove 250 airfield lighting fittings from the airfield.
The group also stated the new runway will be called 'Runway 02/20' when it opens in 2027.
