A €750,000 scheme for businesses affected by the devastating fire at the Tycor Business Centre in Waterford was signed off in May.
The scheme was designed to ensure that appropriate supports are made available to affected businesses and organisations.
Updates on this scheme were provided last week by Mr. Michael Quinn, Waterford Council Director of Services.
He said 29 applications for support have been made by business and community groups impacted by the fire.
Of those, 26 have been approved and three have been refused.
“23 have been paid out or are about to be paid out" Mr. Quinn said.
He added that loss adjusters have been appointed and they will be visiting each of the applicants of the scheme to determine their exact losses.
That process is due to commence next week.
“We are also in discussions with the Department to finalise the scope of the scheme” Mr. Quinn said.
