Two children taken to hospital following incident at Mount Suir Apartments

Two children have been taken to hospital following a fall from the second-storey balcony of Mount Suir Manor.
The children are understood to be three and seven years old. Their condition is currently unknown.
The pane of glass enclosing the balcony is understood to have fallen through- the fall would've been approximately 6 metres high.
The incident took place at Block C of Mount Suir Manor. The block has been in the remit of Waterford City and County Council since 2019 and has been the subject of numerous complaints about living standards.
Gardaí and forensic investigators were present at the scene.
Waterford City and County Council have called an emergency meeting scheduled to take place at 3:30 pm relating to the incident. The meeting will be chaired by Waterford Council Director of Services for Housing Seamus De Faoite.
In a statement to the Waterford News & Star, a spokesperson for the council said: "Waterford City and County Council was notified of a serious incident at the Mount Suir Apartment complex in Waterford City on Friday, March 20th.
"The Council has reached out to the family to offer support and a formal investigation into the incident has commenced."
