The case of a bus driver charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of two Waterford teenagers has been pushed back to this autumn.
The trial of Adrian Doyle, of Ard Glas, Abbey Road, Ferrybank, Co. Waterford, was expected to go ahead earlier this summer at Waterford Circuit Criminal Court. However, at a recent hearing it was put back to October 6.
The trial will go into the circumstances of the deaths of Gilbert Collins (15) and Avuzwa Idris Sampo (17). The teenagers were travelling on an e-scooter in the early hours of June 27, 2024, on the Cork Road in Waterford city when they collided with a bus being driven by Mr Doyle.
Mr Doyle was charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of the two teenagers in April 2025.
