Tramore bike charity ride raises €5k for good cause

On Wednesday evening July 15, a biker gathering raised €5,000 for a noble cause.
The Bike Gathering arranged a convoy around the town to raise money for the Blood Bikes South East, a medical transport charity.
Guest of honour Ann Van Hemelendonck enjoyed a sunset spin around Tramore on the back of a trike, accompanied by a Garda escort and bikers.
According to Frankie McEvoy, the convoy was greeted by well-wishers honking their horns in salute and Ann received her official bikers badge for her efforts.
The charity ride was not Ann's first time helping to raise money for charity. In May, she undertook a 50km challenge that raised over €8,000 for MS Ireland.
As part of her challenge Ann, along with her physical activity coordinator, Chris Conroy, became some of the first Déise residents to walk across the North Quay’s new sustainable transport bridge in Waterford City - something they did on May 1, to kick-start the campaign.
