The 40-meter travelling Grannies for Gaza Quilt is coming to Dungarvan.
Waterford for Palestine and Gaeil ar son Gaza will showcase the quilt, created by Craftivism for Palestine, on Saturday, September 6 at 1:30pm, at the plaza in Dungarvan.
The quilt was made by a collective of women and allies from around the country.
Each of the quilt’s 2,300 hand-crocheted squares represents ten children killed in Israel's genocide on Gaza.

The piece is the brainchild of Niamh Bonner and her mother, Dungarvan native Noreen Lanigan (Noonan) of Cathal Brugha estate and St. Thomas's Terrace.
"Our quilt represents 23,000 innocent Palestinian children.
“Sadly, the quilt is still growing as the children are still being murdered. We made the quilt over a period of 8 weeks to rage, resist, remember, and reflect on their lives taken too soon in this genocide.
“We first displayed the blanket outside the Dáil on July 10. We now aim to bring it to each of the 32 counties of Ireland,” said Ms Bonner.
Noreen has had a huge input into the making of the blanket has been the caretaker since its completion.
Noreen's sisters Mary Crotty, Noelle Conway and Jacinta Cashin of Dungarvan also crocheted a number of squares for the blanket.
The quilt is currently touring all 32 counties to draw attention to the continuing genocide and to highlight the public's demand for the Irish Government to immediately enact the Occupied Territories Bill, including goods and services.

The group is also calling for an end to the US military’s use of Irish airspace and airports, and the cessation of the sale of Israeli War Bonds.
They also demand dropping the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
The quilt has already visited Dublin (including the Palestinian Embassy) Mayo, Derry, Sligo, Carlow, Westmeath, Kerry, Louth, Galway, Tyrone, Newry, and soon Dungarvan.
