Waterford City and County Council is inviting submissions on the Special Speed Limits Draft By-Laws 2026 – Phase 2 of 4

Waterford City and County Council is inviting submissions on the Special Speed Limits Draft By-Laws 2026 – Phase 2 of 4, which relates to the implementation of speed limits in built-up and urban areas.

A spokesperson for the local authority said a countywide review of speed limits has been carried out in accordance with Department of Transport guidelines. 

The Draft By-Laws and accompanying maps are available to view on Waterford City and County Council’s consultation website, on SpeedLimits.ie and also at the Customer Service Desks in Bailey’s New Street, Waterford, and the Civic Offices, Dungarvan, during normal opening hours.

Submissions or observations can be made using the ‘Make a Submission’ button on Waterford Council’s consultation page.

They can also made by post to Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City and County Council and by email to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie 

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Thursday, August 13.

"We encourage interested groups and individuals to review the proposals and make a submission before the deadline," said the spokesperson.
