South Quays Plaza at Clock Tower now nearing completion despite delays

Works are progressing at the new South Quays plaza at the mouth of the new sustainable transport bridge in Waterford City.

A North Quays newsletter circulated in August indicated that the plaza was due to open to the public in Autumn of this year.

However, updates provided this week outlined that the plaza works are expected to be substantially completed later in the year. Snagging and safety checks will then need to be carried out in advance of opening to the public.

The plaza is expected to open next year.

Once the plaza opens, there will be no public access from the plaza to the sustainable transport bridge until the bridge itself opens in 2027.
