Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious fire at a premises in the Tycor Business Park that started prior to the throw-in of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship game between Waterford and Cork at nearby Azzurri Walsh Park.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the Jute Factory area prior to the game, before members of the fire brigade arrived on scene. The fire services were still trying to bring the fire under control long after the final whistle that saw Cork get the better of Waterford in their Munster clash.
Gardai are advising members of the public to avoid the area as their fire colleagues continue to tackle the blaze.
