Saunas, ice baths and relaxation area planned at local sports grounds

Waterpark Rugby Club are planning to expand their offerings with a series of new outdoor recovery and wellness facilities.

Planning application was submitted last week for a timber framed wood burning sauna to accommodate eight to ten people.

Also planned at the club’s grounds in Ballinakill are outdoor cold plunge ice baths, three outdoor cold showers, an outdoor relaxation area, a  timber framed cabin to accommodate a check-in office, and male and female changing rooms.

Waterford City and County Council will decide whether or not to grant permission for the development by September 4.
