Proud sisters fly the Waterford colours on top of world's highest free-standing mountain

Ailish and Elaine Dunphy put their colours to the mast on top of the world's hightest free-standing mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Climbing to the summit of any of the world's tall mountains is a commendable achievement for anybody.
However, two sisters from County Waterford took the opportunity to reach the peak of the world's highest free-standing mountain as a chance to proudly display their county colours for everyone to see.
Ailish and Elaine Dunphy, from Portlaw, recently completed the 5,895m summit climb to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, and in doing so also displayed their pride in the Déise and Portlaw camogie club.
They carried the Waterford flag and Portlaw Camogie jersey to the summit flying the blue and white, and blue and gold colours, on the world's highest free-standing mountain.
Both are former players for Portlaw Camogie Club with Ailish being the Intermediate goalkeeper last year and while Elaine played for Portlaw in her younger years before moving to England.
However, both sisters hold Portlaw and the camogie club close to their hearts and in reaching the summit of the mountain they made many people across the Déise very proud.
As one local person in Portlaw commented: "This is a once in a lifetime experience and a massive achievement to complete. Well done Ailish and Elaine."
