Previously quashed housing project in Dungarvan is reactivated

The development in Dungarvan has been reactivated
Plans submitted to An Bord Pleanala by local businessman Michael Ryan outline his intent to construct 218 residential units at Duckspool, Dungarvan.
The development consists of 176 houses and 42 apartments.
A creche and additional site works are also planned.
The case is to be decided by June 3.
The submission is a reactivation of an old case which An Bord Pleanála granted permission for in October 2021.Its commencement was however halted following a High Court order.
Concerns outlined in the original An Bord Pleanála documents include the developments vulnerability to flooding, impacts on wildlife, scale and local road networks being unable to cater to increased traffic.
Also being planned in the Duckspool area, is a separate development submitted by S&K Carey Limited, which would bring the total number of units across the two developments to 373 total.
