Plans submitted to redevelop Grand Hotel in Tramore
The Grand Hotel, August 2025.
A planning application has been lodged to re-develop Tramore's Grand Hotel into an apartment-hotel complex.
Frisby Homes announced on LinkedIn their plans to create a 40-unit 'Aparthotel' out of the site.
Their statement read: "We are delighted to confirm that a planning application has been lodged for the redevelopment of the historic Grand Hotel, Tramore into a new 40-unit Aparthotel.
"The proposal aims to sensitively restore and revitalise one of Tramore’s most iconic landmark buildings while delivering new high quality tourism accommodation in the heart of the town.
"We look forward to progressing the project through the planning process over the coming months."

The Grand Hotel has lain idle for over a decade, despite local Councillor's pleas to bring the site back into use. In 2022, the Grand Hotel was at the centre of a legal battle over a dereliction order between owner Colm Wu (also known as Guo Qing Wu) and legal representatives for Waterford City and County Council (WCCC). The site is currently not on the Derelict Site register. or Vacant Sites register.
At time of publication, there is no planning application available to view on the WCCC website.
