A sign of Ferrybank's continued growth is the recent listing of Sion Hill House, one of the area's most historic properties, which has been placed on the market with an asking price of €1.2 million.
Sion Hill House, owned by George Kavanagh, is one of Ferrybank's most historic and architecturally significant residences.
Built around 1820 in the Regency style, it stands on an elevated 4.7 acre site overlooking the River Suir and Waterford City.

It has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as outbuildings and a former coachman’s cottage.
The listing on Daft.ie calls it a “once in a generation opportunity”.
The house was originally home to the Pope family, prominent Waterford merchants whose trading interests were closely connected to the city's docks.
Featuring a distinctive Doric portico, elegant Georgian proportions and extensive landscaped grounds, Sion Hill is recognised for its heritage value.

Over the years, it also operated as a popular guesthouse.
Today, it remains a notable local landmark and an important part of Ferrybank's rich history.
