Government Chief Whip & Minister for Mental Health, Mary Butler TD, has announced €786,626 for seven community projects in Waterford under the Community Recognition Fund.

The announcement follows confirmation by her Cabinet colleague, Minister for Rural and Community Development, Dara Calleary TD, who announced over €17 million to deliver 212 community projects nationwide through the fund.

The Community Recognition Fund supports organisations in Waterford City, alongside towns and villages throughout the county, that welcomed new arrivals to their communities in recent years.

"This funding has enabled communities to be more inclusive and resilient through the provision and enhancement of a range of community facilities and community spaces," said Minister Butler.

This recent announcement will see almost €800,000 distributed to Waterford City & County Council, sports clubs and other organisations to develop and enhance amenities that will benefit the wider communities of Waterford City, Dungarvan, Clonea, Abbeyside, Tallow and more.
