Still no updates on the progress of funding for Bonmahon's sand dunes
One year, no updates

The community of Bonmahon are still awaiting updates on funding relating to the area's sand dunes.

A native to the area, Cllr Catherine Burke, has been strongly advocating for a sand dunes management plan and the allocation of funding for chestnut fencing to protect, stabilise and regenerate the dunes.

At this month's Comeragh District meeting, Cllr Burke asked: “Could I request again another update on the funding for the Dunes in Bonmahon? Is there chestnut fencing involved in that and when should residents expect some work?"

Cllr Burke was informed by Senior Executive Officer in the Council's Environment Department, Dawn Wallace, that there is once again no updates.

Cllr Burke said in response: “We’re coming up to a year now with no updates on Bonmahon."
