New sensory room officially opened at University Hospital Waterford
The new space was supported by the Juniors for Juniors Foundation
Juniors for Juniors has officially opened its new sensory room at University Hospital Waterford.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Friday.
In a post on social media, Juniors for Juniors said the new space is about making a “positive difference in the lives of children”.
“This sensory room is more than just a room. It’s a safe haven where children can relax, play, regulate their senses and simply enjoy being children, even during difficult times.
“A big thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored and supported this project. Your kindness has created a lasting legacy that will benefit children for years to come.
“We also want to thank the incredible staff at University Hospital Waterford for their unwavering dedication and for working alongside us to make this vision a reality.
“Together, we’ve created something truly special.
“Every smile matters. Every child matters,” wrote Juniors for Juniors.
Juniors for Juniors in a foundation founded in Waterford which aims to make hospital as comfortable for children as possible.
That means making the patient rooms child-friendly, upgrading things like cots and providing spaces- just like the new sensory room.
