Waterford’s Mount Congreve Gardens and Country Estate has earned its place in Ireland’s Blue Book for 2027.

Membership is not automatic, and the inclusion of the estate is a significant endorsement of its offering and its growing reputation.

Sara Dolan, CEO of Mount Congreve Gardens, welcomed the announcement.

“Earning a place in Ireland’s Blue Book for 2027 is a significant milestone for Mount Congreve. The Blue Book represents a carefully selected collection of distinctive places to stay, and this recognition reflects the quality and character of the experience we have developed here, said Ms Dolan.

To be included in Ireland’s Blue Book, properties are required to meet rigorous selection criteria.

And this achievement adds to a series of accolades for the Waterford estate.

Mount Congreve was named Visitor Attraction of the Year at the 2023 Georgina Campbell Awards and received an International Garden Tourism Award that year.

It was subsequently included in Condé Nast Traveller’s Best Places to Go in the UK and Ireland for 2024, while Waterford featured in The New York Times’ 52 Places to Go in 2024.

Further recognition includes Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award 2026, inclusion in McKenna’s Guides, a place on the Sunday Times’ 100 Great Places to Stay in 2024, and recognition as one of Ireland’s best places to stay by the Irish Independent’s Fab 50 in 2024.

With its 70 acres of woodland garden and four acres of walled garden, the 1760, Mount Congreve is internationally renowned for its extraordinary horticultural collection.
