The Book Centre in Waterford City has announced a new book club, with a twist.

In a social media post, the store said that there was a positive response to their suggestion of starting a book club.

But, they understand that a traditional approach might not work for everyone.

"We know that reading time is precious & that everyone reads & enjoys different genres. It can be hard to give your reading time to a book you don't particularly want to read.

"So with that in mind, we have decided to try something a little different. We want to chat about lots of books with you! Anyone can come & talk about whatever book they want.

"You can give a quick review of a book you liked or disliked but there is no pressure, you can just come & listen if you want. This way we all get some recommendations," read the post.

The first meet-up will be on Saturday, May 17, at 2pm in the Book Centre.
