Man who committed crimes in Waterford city is deported
A 48-year-old man who committed a series of crimes in Waterford city has been deported.
The man, who resided at Viking House hostel in Waterford city was arrested earlier this year on a deportation order.
In July 2025, he was charged with having committed threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour at Gracedieu Road. On this same date he is alleged to have had a hammer in his possession and was charged contrary to the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act.
In September 2025 he is alleged to have trespassed at a local school.
In February of this year, he was charged with having a claw hammer in his possession at John’s Lane in Waterford city.
The man was due to appear before a judge at Waterford Courthouse this week, however the court was informed that the man was deported to his home country of Ghana on June 8.
All counts have therefore been withdrawn.
