Man detained following axe-attacks on cars near popular beauty spot
A man was detained following an incident of criminal damage over the weekend that saw a number of cars damaged by an axe.

A Garda spokesperson said Gardaí responded to reports of criminal damage with an axe to four parked cars at Forth Mountain car park, in Co Wexford.
The incident occurred at around 4.15pm on Saturday, February 7.
The area in question is a well-known and popular tourist spot and local walk and forest amenity based around a long-disused quarry.
The Garda spokesperson said that following a search, a man aged in his 50s was located at a residential property in Taghmon.
"A less-than-lethal force option was deployed by the Armed Support Unit to effect an arrest," said the spokesperson.
The man is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Eastern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and investigations are ongoing.
