Major housing development and creche planned in Ballygunner

The construction of 25 houses and a creche is planned at Radharc na Siuire, Ballygunner.

The proposal is the final phase of the Radharc na Siuire development, which commenced in 2016 and contains 82 dwellings.

A planning application was submitted this week by J&B Neville Limited, outlining plans for the 25 new two-storey dwellings, comprising of 14 three-bedroom, semi-detached and 11 two-bed terraced houses.

A 272 sqm, two-storey creche building is also contained within the plans submitted to Waterford City and County Council. The number of children accommodated will depend on the mix of age groups but it is envisaged that the facility will offer a full service.

The development will be accessed from the existing Radharc na Siuire access road and from a new vehicular entrance from The Village access road.

The development will include a public open space, car parking (50 spaces), cycle parking and all associated site works and infrastructure services.

Planning reports outlined that "the dwellings and creche are two-storey in scale, consistent with the established scale of development in the area".

A decision is expected to be made before January 22, 2025.
