On Saturday, South Eastern Mountain Rescue (SEMRA) were tasked with aiding two walkers who had become disorientated and lost in dark and misty conditions.

Neither were injured, but were unable to find their way back on track.

They made the sensible decision to call for help.

At 5:47pm, An Garda Síochána informed SEMRA of the walker's call.

SEMRA team members and three team vehicles responded to forestry tracks above Rathgormack to access the walker’s location.

By 7pm, the team members were on the hill and making their way towards the walker's location.

They were found at 7:45pm, safe and well but very wet and cold.

They were given blizzard smocks and were led down to a warm team vehicle and checked over.

A member of An Garda Síochána at the scene brought them back to their own car.

Everyone returned home safely.
