A planning application has been submitted outlining intentions to construct new apartments, houses, retail units and a creche at the Carrickphierish Road, Gracedieu, Waterford city.

The development will consist of the construction of 167 residential dwellings in total, comprising of 105 houses, which will range from two-bed to four-bed.

An additional 30 apartments and 32 duplex/duplex apartments will be contained within two five-storey apartment blocks.

The apartments units range from one-bed to three-bed.

Also included in the plans is provision for a public open space, a creche, three commercial/retail units, and communal open space.

274 car parking spaces and 112 cycle spaces are planned.

Kingscroft Developments Limited submitted the application to the local authority this week.

Waterford City and County Council’s planning department will decide on the application by June 30.
