Killure Bridge Nursing Home wins prestigious award

The CARU Group team accepts their NHI Care Award 2024 on stage, celebrating their exceptional contributions to care.
Killure Bridge Nursing Home in Waterford were celebrated at the NHI Care Awards 2024 recently, held at the Mansion House, Dublin.
The event honoured the dedication and compassion of nursing home staff across Ireland.
The spotlight shone brightly on the CARU Group at Killure Bridge Nursing Home, who were recognised for their exceptional contributions to end-of-life care.
The team, comprising Roshen Kuriakose (CNM), Muriel Grogan (staff nurse), Shauna Morrissey (staff nurse) and Shane Mason (healthcare assistant) have set a benchmark for compassionate, person-centred care, significantly enhancing the quality of life for residents and their families.
Established in April 2024, the CARU Group at Killure Bridge Nursing Home has already had a profound impact on residents, families, and colleagues. With combined experience ranging from two to 12 years, the team works tirelessly to provide compassionate care that prioritises dignity and respect at every stage of life.
With a General Election approaching, the awards ceremony welcomed Minister for Finance Jack Chambers as the guest of honour.
Minister Chambers reflected on the invaluable role of nursing home staff in communities like Waterford. He commended their ability to create dignified, respectful environments for residents and praised the dedication shown by teams like the CARU Group in supporting families and communities during some of the most challenging times.
