Ordination To The Permanent Diaconate Of David Cooney. Photo: John Power
History was made at the weekend as the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore joyfully marked the ordination of a new Permanent Deacon.
The historic ceremony took place on Sunday, January 25.
The ceremony took place not in the Cathedral, but in St Paul’s Church, Lisduggan, where Rev. David Cooney was ordained by Bishop Phonsie Cullinan during what was a deeply uplifting celebration.
