“I’m telling you, this would be the biggest thing to ever happen in county Waterford”
Calls were reiterated last week to progress a project in county Waterford that would link the Comeragh Mountains to the sea.
Plans to link Crough Wood to Mahon Falls and to Bunmahon through the Greenway have been mooted for a number of years, with Cllr Liam Brazil at the forefront of calls to get the amenity funded and delivered.
This week, he further urged the Council to consider the project.
“I do believe we have to try and link the coast to the Comeraghs. If we can do that, it would be the biggest thing that’s every happened in county Waterford.”
"I can’t understand why this is not being progressed faster.
“I’m telling you, this would be the biggest thing to ever happen in county Waterford.”
Cllr Catherine Burke shared a similar sentiment, saying: “I think we’re missing opportunities all the time by not focusing on the Copper Coast and Comeragh Mountains as real economic drivers in Waterford.”
A Waterford Council Executive said there are environmental issues that must be overcome and environmental assessments may need to be produced before funding can be procured.
