Heat wave on the way as weather warning issued for Waterford
The status yellow level warning for high temperatures will come into effect from around midday on Tuesday, June 23.
Waterford City & County Council on behalf of Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for the county ahead of an expected heat wave over the next few days.
The status yellow level warning for high temperatures will come into effect from around midday on Tuesday, June 23.
The warning states that maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C are combined with combined with nighttime minima in excess of 15°C expected.
A spokesperson for the local authority said the potential impacts could include water safety concerns due to increased use of lakes and beaches.
Uncomfortable sleeping conditions are also possible along with the potential for heat stress.
The warning will remain in place until around 9am on Friday, June 26 and the local authority spokesperson said the warning is valid for the entire country.
