What's on this week in Waterford
Last year's Tractors and Tudors Festival was a huge success
Next Saturday, 13 December, Carrick on Suir is preparing to light up the South East this December as the town proudly hosts its second Tractors and Tudors Christmas Festival, a joyful celebration that blends heritage, farming tradition, storytelling, and festive cheer in a uniquely memorable way.
The festival builds on the success of the long standing Carrick Christmas Tractor Run, which celebrates its twelfth year in 2025. This tractor run has become one of the most cherished community traditions in the region, drawing families and hinterland communities together to watch hundreds of tractors illuminated with Christmas lights travel through the countryside and into town.
Events will include a craft fair, Tudor re-enactments and panel discussions.

The group, which has been in existence since 2018, will launch the anthology on Friday, December 12, at 8pm in St Patrick’s Gateway Centre in Waterford City.
The anthology features the work of twenty writers from new and stalwart members. This collection is a diverse mix with everything from flash fiction to short stories, three-line minimalism to four-page poetic journeys.
Waterford Writers was founded in April 2018, by Paul Edmondson, Tom Mullane and Dominic McGuigan. They meet at Phil Grimes’ Pub at 8pm, on the first and third Thursday of each month. Alongside their Anthology books the group publishes a broadsheet of poetry every second year. They have collaborated with a local photography club, organised writing workshops and participate regularly in open mic and stage events.
The Waterford Writers Anthology 4 will be launched on Friday, December 12, at 8pm at St. Patrick's Gateway. All are welcome. After the launch the book will be for sale in The Book Centre, Waterford. The group would like to thank Waterford Council Arts Office for their support.
On December 15 and 16, at 8 pm, join Glenn and guests as they take you on an evening of Christmas classics such as 'Oh Holy Night', 'River', 'Last Christmas', 'Fairytale of New York' and more!
After a hugely anticipated debut album, Glenn Murphy is back at the Theatre Royal for another amazing night of festive cheer.
