Hot Chocolate

You are the wholesome one in your family. You're not afraid to cry at the John Lewis Christmas ad and you make your family wear matching pyjamas every year on the Toy Show. I know you've seen it before, but you need to re-watch It’s A Wonderful Life (1946).

Mulled Wine

You have great taste and love to wander around Homeware shops searching for the perfect candle or mug. You're sophisticated but not pretentious and you love to get a little silly and nostalgic during the festive season. You need to watch Little Women (2019). It's sappy without being sickly sweet, unbelievably romantic and full of joy. Not to mention there are some hilarious moments too!

Hot whiskey

You're not the biggest fan of Christmas. You're the person who makes sure the Christmas tree doesn't go up until at least December, you're forced into your geansaí nollaig under duress but let's face it: you secretly love it all. The Holdovers (2023), set in a boarding school in the 1970s, tells the story of a gruff English teacher charged with looking after the students who have nowhere to go for Christmas. It's surprisingly funny and it earns every sentimental scene.

Bailey’s coffee

You're the lunatic of the family, doing your Christmas present shopping on December 24 and chaotically putting tinsel on every surface you can manage. You're the life of the party and full of energy. If you can sit still for long enough, you should watch Elf (2003). Will Ferrell brilliantly plays a grown man who has been raised as in the North Pole as an elf. Despite being over twenty years old, the jokes still feel fresh and it injects much-needed silliness into Christmas.

Prosecco

You love Christmas but its also usually up to you to do all of the Christmas shopping, wrapping, cleaning, and you're so, so tired. Bad Moms Christmas (2017) is all about people who want to enjoy Christmas but also are the ones who make Christmas special for everyone else in their lives. It's laugh-out-loud funny and only gets better with every glass you have. So give yourself a break, pour yourself a glass of bubbly and let someone else make dinner for once!
