Lismore Castle Arts annual showcase returns next week
This year's exhibition brings together five up and coming artists working across sculpture, installation, photography, painting and archival processes from colleges around the country.
Lismore Castle Arts are showcasing a variety of Irish talent next week, with their annual Origins exhibition returning to St Carthage Hall from August 1 – 16, on Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 12 – 5pm.
The exhibition launch and preview will be held at St Carthage Hall, Chapel Street, Lismore on Saturday, 1 August from 3 – 5pm, with an open invite.
This year's Origins exhibition features art and artists selected from the 2026 undergraduate shows held across Ireland, bringing some of Ireland's most talented emerging artists to Waterford.
Origins 2026 brings together five up and coming artists working across sculpture, installation, photography, painting and archival processes from colleges around the country.
Sophia Aftab from MTU Crawford College of Art & Design, Ciana Clarke from the National College of Art & Design and three TUS Limerick School of Art & Design students, Jodie Galvin, Sally Ryan and Emer McMahon will all have works on display at the exhibition.
Drawing on personal experience, their practices explore identity, domestic space, perception and the way images, objects and archives shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
From bedrooms, diaries and everyday rituals to assistive technologies, self-portraiture and acts of documentation, the exhibition considers how private experience can reflect broader social, technological, and emotional realities.
Together, the artists reveal the significance of the ordinary, inviting the audience to look more closely at the spaces and objects that make up contemporary life.
