Waterford Walls starting this week

Waterford Walls returns this week for ten days of creativity, community and urban culture

After a brilliant run last year, the Waterford Walls Festival returns this week, from Friday, August 7 to Sunday, August 16, transforming Waterford City and its surrounding areas into one of Europe's most vibrant open-air galleries.

More than 50 local, national, and international artists will create large-scale murals throughout the city on over 70 different walls, adding new works to Waterford's ever-growing collection of street art.

From some of the biggest names in international street art to exciting emerging talent, the festival offers visitors a unique opportunity to watch incredible artworks come to life right before their eyes.

It's not all murals and street art though; Waterford Walls has a packed programme celebrating creativity, urban culture and community spanning across ten colourful days in Ireland's oldest city.

Visitors can enjoy artist talks, panel discussions, film screenings, draw & dine experiences, walking tours, workshops and interactive activities for all ages.

The festival hub is open daily throughout the ten days, serving as the heart of the celebrations, with live paintings, DJs, a fully licensed bar, and a lively outdoor atmosphere, it is the perfect place to meet friends, discover new artists, and soak up the energy of the festival.

A major highlight of the ten-day long festival takes place on Saturday, August 15, when the annual Waterford Walls Street Party returns to Pocket Park. With live painting, breakdancing, music, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day, it promises to be a day of excitement for everyone.

Whether you're passionate about street art, searching for a creative family day out or simply looking for a new way to explore Waterford, this year's Waterford Walls Festival invites you to follow the murals across the city, meet some of the artists, try your hand at something creative and experience Waterford at its most colourful.
