The Waterford Festival of Food has unveiled in programme for 2026.
Formerly known as the West Waterford Festival of Food, the event has grown considerably in recent years and is now expanding its annual Dungarvan programme into Waterford city.
The Waterford Festival of Food brings together chefs, producers, growers and food lovers for a weekend of dining experiences, markets, tastings, talks and family activities across Waterford.
Last year, the festival welcomed 75,000 visitors and it's hoped this year's event will even surpass that figure.
Over 150 food events and activities are planned from April 24 to April 26.
Over the festival weekend there is the opportunity to enjoy all that the region has to offer at the markets.
Begin on Thursday with Dungarvan Farmers Market, continue with the traditional Country Market on Friday, browse the stalls at Quayside Saturday while everything comes together in the showcase Festival Market on Sunday.
A huge selection of dining and trails experiences are available throughout the festival weekend.
A guided walking tour from local guide Stiofán MacCárthaigh in Waterford city will bring guests to well-known eateries and hidden historic corners, including the spot where coffee was first traded in Ireland.
While doing so, people will also get to discover how Waterford’s food scene has evolved into the innovative, sustainable cuisine of today.
There will be a tapas trail in Dungarvan, afternoon tea at Woodhouse Estate, a drag brunch at Merry’s Pub and much more.
From panel discussions, chef demos, producer talks and tastings – Waterford Festival of Food always delivers a great programme of talks and demos throughout the festival weekend.
Included this year is a cocktail masterclass led by John Coleman at The Old Bank, and a latte art class with expert tips and demonstrations at Grattan Square, Dungarvan.
Meanwhile, at the Courthouse in Dungarvan town, local food and drink producers will be sharing knowledge and displaying their products. Curated and hosted by Richard Povey, the day will feature a series of engaging talks and demonstrations that dive deep into the heart of Waterford’s food culture.
Much more is on offer throughout the festival weekend, including wellness events, live music and a dedicated programme for children and families. Ticket sales commence on Friday March 20.
