Jazz concert will be an autumn highlight of the music schedule in Waterford City

The Killian Browne Jazz Quartet will perform in the Dr Mary Strangman Large Room
Music fans are in for a real treat in Waterford later this month when a very special event will take place in the Dr Mary Strangman Large Room at City Hall.
Waterford Music will be hosting the Killian Browne Jazz Quartet on Wednesday, September 25, at 7.30pm in an event that will see the music promotion organisation step beyond the classical genre for what promises to be a supreme autumn jazz concert.
The Killian Browne Jazz Quartet features four well-known local musicians: Killian Browne (piano,) Dylan Bible (guitar) and brothers Lorcan Byrne (drums) and Cillian Byrne (double bass).
The quartet will perform a varied programme of jazz standards, like ‘Dewey Square’ by Charlie Parker and ‘Valse Hot’ by Sonny Rollins.
However, they will also be performing Irish traditional airs like ‘Inis Oirr’ and Micheál O Súilleabháin’s, ‘Idir Eatarthu.’

The audience will also have a chance to hear new compositions from Killian Browne himself and for all discerning music fans this could well be one of the music highlights of the year.
Waterford Music has been bringing high-quality chamber music to Waterford since 1942, but is hosting more musicians from different genres, like the Killian Browne Jazz Quartet, to widen the appeal of their concerts for audiences.
Waterford Music will also be hosting the Irish Chamber Orchestra on Friday, September 13, in partnership with the Symphony Club of Waterford.
However, the Killian Browne Quartet concert is the first of its own, five-concert schedule of autumn concerts.
Tickets for the concert are now available, priced €20 (full price), €15 (concession) and €5 (students). They will be available to purchase at the door on the night of the concert or can be bought in advance through Waterford Music website, waterford-music.org.
